Ranking of some of the top prospects in this year’s NBA Draft

With a new NBA champion crowned and the NBA Draft is just over a week away, the level of coverage will be at its peak soon. That includes here at Pounding the Rock where you can find prospect breakdowns and what the team might do. This year, I decided to create a bit of a draft guide/big board that I’ll continue to update as we get closer to the NBA Draft.

A few notes before we start:

Heights and weights are the measurements from the NBA Draft Combine and Global NBA pre-draft camp (heights are without shoes). I also used RealGM for their stats and ages.

You might notice some top prospects missing. I started out doing this after watching highlights on No Ceilings NBA’s YouTube channel. They had a mix of different players I went through, but then decided to include missing prospects from ESPN’s best available.

This is the initial, first look ranking. I’ve watched a good bit of these prospects, but when deciding to create my big board, I did my best to throw that out and start anew. The current ranking for each prospect is based solely on watching one highlight compilation video. I know highlights can be misleading since you’re only seeing the best of a prospect, but seeing the best does allow one to visualize what their peak could look like in the NBA. As time passes, I’ll be combing through game tape to create a more contextualized ranking.

If you’re curious about where a certain prospect would rank that isn’t listed, leave them in a comment. I’ll be sure to include them on the next ranking.

Without further ado, here is my Inaugural Big Board:
